Kog Tao View Point Resort is nestled beautifully on the small headland and the outside of Chalok Baan Kao Beach. The view is astounding and coupled with very reasonable rates, a small private beach and great service, Viewpoint is a place guests return to year after year.
It's a viewpoint resort, so it does have wonderful views of the bay and sea. We paid for 6 nights in the more expensive room but left after 2 because the conditions were so appalling. To get to the resort itself is about a 15 minute walk from where the taxi can get to, then you must walk through restaurants and beaches and even the sea to get up there. The room itself was adequate supplied with a fan and almost constant electricity. However, there wasn't any proper bed sheets and they just supplied a super large towel for covering yourself. The bathroom was decorated in black tiles so it's all dark (possibly to hide the dirt) and there was a smell, similar to the smell from public toilets, coming from it. Also NO HOT WATER! When we checked in, all they told us was to follow this guy to our room, and then in the room the towel on the floor (leading to bathroom) was completely soaked - as if it had not been changed.
We also paid for transfer from the pier but we didn't get it. We tried to call but no one picked up the phone - so we ended up paying 100Baht for a taxi and then a long walk.
